Tippy Tap! Tippy Tap!

Hi, I’m Scruffles and I took over mom’s heart in 2018! My tail and paws tell me that we were meant to meet. She tried to take me home 3 times! Every time, someone else claimed me and then they never came to get me. Eventually, she took me home and I’ve been with her since. We moved to NYC from Philly, where I used to go to Doggie Daycare and play with my furry friends!

I didn’t like New York City at first. It was loud and noisy, I didn’t have my doggie friends to play with and I didn’t have the parkway to sniff all the flowers and trees that I was used to. Our apartment in NYC is a lot smaller so I can’t run around the way I used to either.

I’ve gotten used to it now, and I have to say, I like when mom takes me for long walks in the park or to the doggie run. I’ve met many other doggie friends now. I have to tell you, the best part about our life here, is that I love having mom home all the time!!! She never leaves! She’s always looking at her computer and talking on the phone – that’s when I like to sit on my very own chair and keep my eyes on her all day. I try to make her feel better when she looks worried, so I jump down and sit next to her and let her pet me all over! That usually makes her smile! I also really like to lay by her feet, but sometimes she will tap my nose when she gets up! She then says something like “OH MY BABY!!!! I’m SOOOO sorry!! Are you ok?!?”

I figured out that in these cases, if I roll over, she’ll rub my belly and give me extra ear rubs.

You know what else I learned?!? That mom will carry me home if I don’t want to walk in the rain. Tell your pawrents that if you look like you can’t walk on your paw, they’ll pick you up and carry you home! I also know that if I sit down and look at mom pensively, and then take a few steps home, she won’t make me walk any more! She lets me wait until the next time!

Oh! I discovered that I LOVE playing in the white cold rain! It’s so fun to leave little paw print notes for the other doggies that come out! Mom doesn’t know that’s what I’m doing, she calls it “romping around.” She’s a funny lady! I can tell mom loves me very much and I make sure she knows I love her too by giving her big wet licks on her face and wagging my tail extra hard for her. She usually rewards me with a kiss, or my favorite… TREATS!!!

I have to go for now, the orange ball got away from me and I must catch it before it disappears under the couch!
